Tri-University Research Administration Convening+

What is TURAC+?

The Tri-University Research Administration Convening is a free hybrid event designed to provide research administrators at Arizona’s three public universities the opportunity to learn new skills and network with other research administrators across the state.

Rooted in Knowledge, Strengthened Through Connection:

TURAC 2027 is Coming!

The Tri-University Research Administrators Convening (TURAC) is back, and we’re excited to announce that TURAC 2027 will take place virtually in Spring 2027

This year’s theme, “Rooted in Knowledge, Strengthened Through Connection,” celebrates what makes Arizona’s research administration community so special: the expertise we bring to our institutions and the relationships that help us grow together.

TURAC brings together Research Administrators from Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and the University of Arizona for a unique opportunity to connect across institutions, exchange ideas, and strengthen the partnerships that support Arizona’s research enterprise.

More Than a Conference

TURAC is built by Research Administrators, for Research Administrators. Whether you’re new to the profession or a seasoned veteran, the conference offers opportunities to:

  • Build connections with colleagues across Arizona.
  • Share best practices and innovative ideas.
  • Learn from peers and subject matter experts.
  • Strengthen our research administration community.

As we prepare for TURAC 2027, we’re looking to create an engaging virtual experience that reflects the creativity, expertise, and collaborative spirit of our community.

Help Shape TURAC 2027

One of the best ways to get involved is by joining a TURAC planning committee. Volunteers can serve as either Committee Members, supporting committee initiatives and sharing ideas, or Committee Leads, partnering directly with a TURAC Co-Chair to help guide committee activities and bring projects to life.

TURAC 2027 Committees:

  • Program & Content Strategy
  • Help develop session themes, identify speakers, and shape meaningful content that informs and inspires attendees.
  • Evaluation & Insights
  • Support survey development, feedback collection, and post-event analysis to help TURAC continuously improve and evolve.
  • Communications & Attendee Engagement
  • Promote TURAC through coordinated communications, branding, and strategic outreach while fostering attendee engagement before, during, and after the conference.
  • Networking & Connections
  • Create meaningful opportunities for attendees across ASU, NAU, and the University of Arizona to connect, collaborate, and build lasting professional relationships.
  • Digital Experience & Platform
  • Support the virtual conference platform, enhance the attendee experience, and assist with technical coordination.
  • Event Delivery
  • Help ensure a seamless event experience by supporting session flow, troubleshooting, and day-of conference logistics.
  • General Secretary
  • Serve as the central coordinator for TURAC 2027 by supporting committee collaboration, tracking milestones, facilitating governance activities, and helping ensure the successful execution of the conference across all three institutions.

Why Volunteer?

TURAC is powered by the people who make it happen. Volunteering is a chance to:

  • Expand your professional network across Arizona.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from ASU, NAU, and the University of Arizona.
  • Develop leadership and project management skills.
  • Share your ideas and make a lasting impact on Arizona’s research administration community.

Whether you’re looking to meet new colleagues, grow professionally, or give back to the RA community, there’s a place for you on the TURAC 2027 planning team.

Volunteer sign-ups are now open and will close at the end of July 2026.

Help us bring this year’s theme—Rooted in Knowledge, Strengthened Through Connection—to life by joining a committee and helping shape TURAC 2027.
